A pin header is an electrical connector composed of one or more rows of metal pins embedded in a plastic base. They facilitate connections between components in electronic devices, such as printed circuit boards (PCBs), breadboards, and other prototyping tools.
Pin headers are the male part of the connector pair, with their female counterparts being female headers or pin sockets. They come in various sizes and configurations, including straight or right-angle orientations, and are available in numerous spacings. The most common pitch for pin headers is 2.54 mm (0.1 inches).
Pin headers find applications in a wide range of fields, including consumer electronics, industrial automation, automotive systems, and IoT devices.
