D-Sub Connectors

A D-sub connector, also known as a DB connector, is a compact electrical connector that is commonly used to connect devices in technology, computing, and communications.

The connector's D-shaped metal shell protects it from electromagnetic and mechanical interference. The shield's asymmetric shape ensures that it only attaches to its corresponding connector in the correct orientation. The connector has two or more parallel rows of pins in the plug and jacks in the socket. The pins or jacks often have gold tips surrounded by insulation. D-sub connectors are used for analog and digital video signals, serial and parallel data transmission, and high-reliability applications. D-sub connectors are found in many devices, including computer monitors, printers, keyboards, mice, and networking equipment.
